When we were young and had nothing to think about, life was much simpler. You only need to come to school, eat, and finish your homework. Now that adulthood is playing a role in my life, I'm getting used to it.


Most days, I'm exhausted when I get home from work. Gosh! The best part is that I've just started reminding myself that I need to get enough rest to maintain a healthy life balance and a functioning brain. I adopted the practice of prioritising my rest. After a long, stressful day at work, I take my time to relax and de-stress whenever I get home.


If you want to unwind after a long, stressful day as I do, follow these suggestions.


  • Take a cool bath: My most crucial routine is to take a chilly bath. I take off my clothes as soon as I arrive home from work and immediately take a cool shower in the bathtub. I use a soap with a light aroma. I can actually relax for a few minutes because of this.

  • Put on Comfortable attire: By taking off my work clothing, I am signalling to my brain that this is a time for rest. I changed into my favourite t-shirt and sweatpants after taking a cool bath.

  • Keep all devices away:  After a long day of answering calls, messages, and replying to emails, during my relaxation time, I keep all devices away. This helps my sanity tremendously.

  •  Listen to relaxing music:  There are specific songs for relaxation. I update my playlist always because this is one part that helps me to unwind after a very stressful day.

  • Have a glass of wine:  Whichever type of wine works for you, go for it. The most important thing is that you are having your brain relaxed. Do not take it in excess, just pour a chilled glass of your favourite wine and sip.


In a nutshell, it is very important you take good care of yourself, eat healthy food and drinks, have regular exercise, have a good rest and sleep properly.
